CUPCAKE ANYONE?

So, what makes up a good day?

Had I pondered over the same question just 2 days back, I would have come up with things like: talking to an old friend after ages, someone being unexpectedly sweet, a friend pouring her heart out and me successfully consoling her. Well, precisely, anything to do with a significant or insignificant “other”. If asked now, I wouldn’t say others have ceased to be important to me, but I did have a rather late epiphany. The omnipotent and omnipresent formula of “living for oneself” has finally begun to make some sense.

While trying to keep in pace with the ever changing world around us, we somehow, lose track of our own selves. Most people I know, and people otherwise in general, have adjusted to the style of life called Practicality. I, on the other hand, have always cringed at the thought of turning cold hearted and not feeling pain or warmth anymore. Yes, that’s what my perception of being practical was and may be, still is. But truth be told, being overtly emotional hasn’t done me much good either.

Today, I haven’t really changed much as a person. In fact, no one could in 2 days! Nevertheless, I have tried to alter my idea of happiness by trying to place it a tad bit distant from others. I went to the extent of making a happy list for myself. I am not a list person at ALL. However, I do hope to stick to this one.

Like today, what made my day was successfully drawing an elephant! You must know that I am the last person on earth you would even want to see doodling and by the way, it was for a 4 year old! Yeah, funny but I guess I am learning. We all do. :)

'cause cupcakes maketh happy! :)

  2. I couldn't let your formula "living for oneself" go without a comment. My take on this ( not necessarily that of others or yours) (not necessarily right either) .... Living for oneself is not likely to get you happiness. Happily living with yourself will. Just be yourself. Enjoy your LIST as long as it does not include something that will consciously cause unhappiness to someone else. You will find that the happiness you are creating within yourself will spill over to others.

  3. Of course, ma'am. Causing unhappiness to others is not in the list but finding happiness for oneself amidst all the confusions of life, sure is. I wish I had more people like you around :)

  4. Sarita , Mam is right in this regard. Be happy and enjoy the life dear ...you have along way to go..but i know you are little emotional and let your emotion not be your weakness, rather allow it to be your strength...
